Certified Cisco Security Professional (CCSP) is designed by Cisco institution, has proven proficiency in the management and security of network infrastructures in reducing costs, protecting productivity, and diminishing threats. Emphasis is put on VPNs, perimeter security, and preventing intrusion. Students will learn to utilize these technologies to design a secure, integrated network.

The Curriculum of CCSP is as following:

Unlike many of the other Cisco certifications, the CCSP certification does not require specific coursework to be completed. Instead, Cisco recommends courses which will assist in passing the required exams. In addition Cisco training videos and online courses are available to assist in preparing for the exams.

*Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches (SNRS)

*Securing Networks with ASA Foundation (SNAF)

*Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)

*Implementing Cisco NAC Appliance (CANAC) OR Implementing Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis and Response System (MARS) OR Securing Networks with ASA Advanced (SNAA) Exams

The CCSP has three required exams as well as two elective exams. Required Exams:

642-504 SNRS (Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches)

642-524 SNAF (Securing Networks with ASA Foundation)

642-533 IPS (Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention Systems)

Elective Exams: 642-591 CANAC (Implementing Cisco NAC Appliance), 642-545 MARS (Implementing Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis and Response System), OR 642-515 SNAA (Securing Networks with ASA Advanced)

Required Exam Descriptions:

The Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches exam assesses the students understanding and capability in using Cisco routers and switches to secure networks. The Securing Networks with ASA Fundamentals exam assesses the students understanding and capability in describing, configuring, and managing the Cisco ASA Security Appliance product. The IPS Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System assesses the students ability to implement the Cisco IPS product.

1. Cost effective
Using a CCNA book is by far the most cost effective means of studying for your exam. A good CCNA book will usually not cost more than $50. In comparison, a Cisco approved classroom course at a training centre typically costs a few thousand dollars. If you are on a budget, using a CCNA book definitely provides the most bang for the buck.

2. Coverage Of All Objectives

The CCNA exam has been around for a very long time. The CCNA books have been written to comprehensively cover all the exam objectives. The better books have bonus videos, sample exams and other goodies to help you have the most comprehensive exam preparation possible.

3. High-Level Of Technical Accuracy

The typical CCNA book writer, author and technical reviewer usually has years of experience in the IT and computer networking industry. They are typically CCIE certified which means that they have reached the highest level of technical qualification as determined by Cisco. There are approximately only 20,000 certified and qualified CCIEs in the world today and it is considered to be a great honor to hold this certification. You can thus be assured that the book is written to a high degree of accuracy, at least technically.

4. Wide Range Of Books

There is a wide variety of books available in the market for all aspects of your CCNA preparation. These include books have provide deep coverage of the material, as well as the exam review type of books which are good for a quick revision before the CCNA exam. Books containing sample tests are also widely available, as are books that contain lab scenarios. I can say that there is a book for every aspect of the exam.

If you have a limited budget to prepare for your CCNA exam, why not consider using a CCNA book to prepare? You can have an entire library of CCNA books for just a couple of hundred dollars from the site like pass4sure.

Cisco Systems and Cisco Training founded in 1984 by a small group of computer scientists from Stanford University, has been leading in worldwide networking for the internet for over 20 years., it is this company that offers the Cisco Training. Cisco is a worldwide producer of hard and software, and to maintain an excellent level of innovation, they also maintain training courses in networking and computer solutions. Their networks are essential in communication in business, education and government and their IP networking solutions are the foundation of these networks. This company training allows users to create Internet solutions to increase productivity, improve customer satisfaction, and strengthen the competitive advantage. Cisco has achieved such prominence that their name has become synonymous with the internet, as well as with the technological improvements that internet business solutions provide. Microsoft
Since the company’s inception, Cisco has been leading the development of IP-based networking technologies, and they are committed to creating networks that are smarter and faster. But the difference in their mode of operation is that they have been doing it with integrity to delivering differentiated value to customers and partners, while adjusting to their needs and their standard of living improvements. 70-640 It is this tradition of IP innovation that keeps them at the top, with industry-leading products and the training comes as a direct result of this.
To help foster this advanced standing, 70-642 Cisco offers students the Cisco Networking Academy where they are educated with resources they need to design, build, and maintain computer networks.70-401 Cisco Networking Academies help students around the world acquire the necessary skills for IT-related jobs and for employment in engineering, computer science, and related fields. 70-293 The Cisco Company itself has over 34,000 employees, and the Academy is now in its sixth year, and the program 70-647 has more than 10,000 academies in 152 countries.

If you have decided to prepare for the CCNA and CCNP from Cisco at home, Pass4sure and TestKingdom are the great place for you as well as pick up some study institution for training. Of course, the internet being what it is, there are always going to be a few people looking to take your money while provide you the pirate or worse, no merchandise at all. While these “dealers” are in the minority, you still need to be careful when purchasing Cisco equipment on website.

In this article, I’ll give you several tips on browsing website ads for home learning ideas, and a few things to look out for when purchasing equipment online. For those of you just starting your Cisco certification pursuit, the idea of purchasing a series of books about the technology set of routers, switches, and perhaps some cables and study guides — seems like a good idea. Instead of putting your knowledge together one piece at a time, these kits allow you to get a head start on your studies.

One thing to watch out for in these kits is outdated equipment, or the inclusion of outdated study guides. Often, vendors will use these kits as a way to get rid of unwanted inventory. The Cisco 1900 family of switches falls into this category. A recent search on pass4sure for CCNA related showed different CCNA kits. The problem here is that the current CCNA exams do not test on all which are menu-driven and do not have an IOS.

If you’re on a tight budget, though, get a Cisco switch with an IOS. The cables and transceivers included with these kits are generally exactly what you need to set up that particular kit, and this can be very helpful to those CCNA candidates who are new to the various cables needed to physically configure a home lab. Just make sure you’re not buying a kit with 10 transceivers (used on AUI ports) when you’ve only got two routers with Ethernet ports. Watch out for kits that include outdated study guides. I’ve seen four-year-old CCNA books included with some kits. If you already have your study guides, feel free to ask the vendor how much the kit costs without the books. That leads me to the most important point. Get to know the vendor before buying anything.

Others, Building your own CCNA and/or CCNP home lab is a little intimidating at first, but speaking as someone who has climbed the Cisco certification ladder from the CCNA to the CCIE, I can tell you that it is the best investment you can make in your career. Use a little caution, ask the right question, and soon you’ll be leaving the world of “router simulators” behind – and you’ll be developing your skills as a true professional should: On real Cisco routers and switches!

Cisco as the leader of IT certification, give you the authority prove which can give you the many help when you apply for your job.
For CCNA and CCNP candidates, you should do your best learning when you screw your knowledge up. It doesn’t give lip service to but the only way to develop your Cisco troubleshooting skills you need to pass your Intro, ICND, and CCNP exams.
Take a look at the ping that we’re used to using for LAN issues, and the extended ping.
“Basic” ping is familiar for us, where you use the ping command followed by the IP address you want to confirm IP connectivity with. When you’ve got connectivity, you will see five obvious points, as seen here: R1#ping 172.12.123.2 Type escape sequence to abort.Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 172.12.123.2, timeout is 2 seconds: !!!!! Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 68/68/72 ms
The default source IP address for ping is the IP address closest to the destination IP address. Other defaults – five ICMP packets will be sent (the five exclamation points you see), and they’re sent two seconds apart. That’s fine for many basic situations, but as you progress through your networking career and most advanced scenarios in your CCNA / CCNP studies, you will want to change some of these defaults.
When you wanted to send 10,000 pings; When you needed your router’s loopback address to be the source IP address for the pings; When you wanted to send them five seconds apart, instead of two. Then extended ping comes in.
To use extended ping, type “ping” and hit enter.
R1>ping % Incomplete command. “incomplete command” indicates that the router is waiting for an IP address; you can’t use extended ping in user exec mode. R1>enable R1#ping Protocol [ip]: Target IP address: 172.16.123.1 Repeat count [5]: 1000 Datagram size [100]: Timeout in seconds [2]: Extended commands [n]: y Source address or interface: loopback0 Type of service [0]: Set DF bit in IP header? [no]: Validate reply data? [no]: Data pattern [0xABCD]: Loose, Strict, Record, Timestamp, Verbose[none]: Sweep range of sizes [n]: Type escape sequence to abort. Sending 1000, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 172.16.123.1, timeout is 2 seconds: Packet sent with a source address of 1.1.1.1 …………………………………
In this example, 1000 ICMP packets were sent to an address that doesn’t exist, so getting periods instead of exclamation points. This is to show you the many options you have with extended ping.
Now let’s sent those 1000 pings, stop that process. At the beginning of the basic ping output, you see this phrase: Type escape sequence to abort. This escape sequence works for ping, extended ping, and traceroute. Funny thing, though – Cisco doesn’t tell you what the escape sequence is! One day, this will really come in handy. The escape sequence is , TWICE in rapid succession. After I used it in this example, the pings stopped and I got this message: Success rate is 0 percent (0/192) The ping stopped after 192 ICMP packets were sent. This keystroke takes a little practice, so practice it in your home lab. Knowing how to use extended ping will really come in handy on your CCNA and CCNP exams as well as your real-life networking job, and knowing how to stop an extended ping will as well!
Once you want to go by the road, you should make sure that you can go forever, and you would try your best to aim it.
When you learning, you can find the information from many learning website like pass4sure. Or you can look for the training institution, just be careful.

The different router modes play an important role of your CCNA studies, when you starting to prepare for CCNA exams. But when you take them you’ll find that keeping those modes straight would be very difficult.

Let’s analysis the various router modes for a simple describe you’ll need to know about to pass your CCNA, and how to use IOS Help illustrating the different uses of each mode.

The first mode you’ll see on a router is the user exec mode. This is also the default mode a user is placed into when using Telnet to connect to a router. The prompt will look like this: R1> You can’t write or add to a configuration in this mode, but you can run quite a few show commands. This is a good mode to have users in who need to see the configuration, but shouldn’t be allowed to change it.

Then before get to the next level, type enable at the user exec prompt: R1>enable R1# Notice that the prompt changed. This mode has two names, the official one being privileged exec mode. It’s more commonly referred to as enable mode, since “enable” is what you type to get into this mode. This mode gives you more options for show and other commands, but you still can’t configure anything.

To configure global commands, use “configure terminal”/”conf t”, to enter global configuration mode. R1#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. R1(config)# The prompt has changed again, and now global configuration commands such as hostname and no ip domain-lookup can be entered. From here, you’ve got a lot of options, but we’ll look at three you need to know for your CCNA exams.

To apply configuration commands to an interface, enter interface configuration mode, as shown here: R1(config)#interface serial0 R1(config-if)# You must be in global config mode to get into interface config mode you cannot go from enable mode straight to interface configuration mode. R1#interface serial0 ^ % Invalid input detected at ‘^’ marker. Interface configuration mode allows you to apply an IP address to the interface, as well as many other commands related to frame relay, ISDN, and dynamic routing protocols. For the CCNA, you need to know about two other configuration modes. To configure console commands (such as password protection), enter line configuration mode as shown here: R1#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. R1(config)#line console 0 R1(config-line)#password cisco R1(config-line)#login The prompt “(config-line)” indicates that you’re in line configuration mode. Your console line is not the only line you’ll be configuring for the CCNA, though your vty lines are used for incoming telnet connections and must be configured in a similar fashion. R1#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. R1(config)#line console 0 R1(config-line)#password cisco R1(config-line)#login R1(config-line)#line vty 0 4 R1(config-line)#password cisco R1(config-line)#login Notice that you do not have to exit one interface mode to go to another one. Let’s say that you’ve configured your vty lines and now want to put an IP address on your Ethernet interface. You don’t have to go out with ctrl-z and then start again you can go straight to interface config mode from line config mode. Just make sure you see the prompt change!
So when you’re or will prepare for CCNA exam in succeed, there’s a lot to absorb. Just take it as the one of your daily life during the moment. After your hard-working the help from specializations were also certain to. With their help you would get some hands-on experience to go with your theory. You can ask for some institution for training. Other ways, you can go for the pass4sure, from which you can get the helpful book, software, Virtual Lab, and even the practice tests there. So how can be CCNA exam not success ?

Except I told you, you must have known the importance of voice technologies in today’s networks; Compare with today, you can image how important knowing voice is going to be tomorrow.

So be equipped with technology like this, you must be strong in the field. To prove your capability, you can get some certifications, which can be the most convictive.

Cisco, as the pioneer in technical certifications, has offered a Cisco Certified Voice Professional certification–CCVP that is gaining a lot of attention from IT professionals looking to add to their skills and their resume. Cisco’s CCVP certification needs a rigorous five-exam track that requires you to earn your CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification first. The five exams cover a myriad of topics and not in one away!

Here are the exam numbers and codes that you need to know for the CCVP exams:

642-642 Quality Of Service (QOS)

642-432 Cisco Voice Over IP (CVOICE)

642-425 IP Telephony Troubleshooting (IPTT)

642-444 Cisco IP Telephony (CIPT)

642-452 Cisco Voice Gateways (GWGK)

After they have gained CCNA certification, the newly-minted CCNAs wonder if they should pursue CCNP or the Security Professional certification immediately. So I think these candidates should decide before going after these more-specialized certifications.

The routing and switching knowledge your will acquire on your way to the CCNP will be invaluable to your career as well as being helpful with your CCVP pursuits all of Cisco. These certifications won’t be going anywhere soon. Think of how valuable you will be with a CCNP, CCVP, and CCSP!

To make it more clearly, you can get more details from their official websites. You will learn more and also get help from the specialization who can analysis your situation and give you the useful advice. After that you can look for help from some institution for training, even some web online like pass4sure to provide you the book and Virtual Lab you need when you prepared for your exams for Cisco.

CCNA is the based certification of Cisco, once you’ve got your CCNA, you can do some prepare for the further level in the Cisco Professional certifications.

CCNP, as a higher level of Cisco than CCNA, designed for Cisco Certified Network Professional certification. With the time going and its development, Cisco has expanded this level of certifications to include the Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) and Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP).

In today’s network, with security and voice being the two most rapidly expanding areas, some new CCNAs don’t add the CCNP in mind but consider going after the CCSP or CCVP. While you are trying to hurry up and get a Cisco security or voice certification, the best thing you can do for your networking career is achieve your CCNP certification first, then decide on the CCVP or CCSP. You must be open-eyed, later we’ll explain for it.

As the CCNA is just the tip of a very large iceberg when it comes to routing and switching, but CCNA is indeed the foundation of your networking career. If you need to add on to that level of understanding routing and switching before moving on to more specialized areas.

Two examples are OSPF and BGP. You learn about the theory of OSPF and some basic and intermediate configurations of that protocol in your CCNA studies, but the knowledge you acquire of OSPF in your CCNP studies is invaluable.

As for BGP, there is no BGP in the CCNA curriculum, but it is a great idea to have some BGP knowledge in today’s networks. It’s also good for your career. I know it is a huge temptation to go after the security and voice certifications while not paying attention to the CCNP.

Do yourself a huge favor, add the tremendous amount of routing and switching knowledge needed for the CCNP to your knowledgebase, and you can then move on to the CCSP or CCVP.

After that even better, you’ll be prepared to climb the biggest certification mountain around – the CCIE!

In today’s networks, as well known as we know that security is the #1 concern.

For this, if you want to work for network, with that in mind, your career path must need some security certifications, other way you will be left behind.

Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification of Cisco demands the candidates can be well-rounded and well-versed in Cisco security measures.

First, you must hold a valid CCNA certification to earn your CCSP. Besides the difficultly we’ve all come to expect from a Cisco exam, its five-exam path covers every major aspect of network security (from Cisco’s viewpoint, anyway!), just don’t take it easy.

The step one exam for CCSP candidates take is Securing Networks With Cisco Routers And Switches (SNRS), followed by Securing Cisco Network Devices (SND).

After you’ve grasped these two exams, which largely focus on devices more familiar to CCNAs and CCNPs, the following you’ll have to face with three exams that are more specific to Cisco security devices.

Your PIX knowledge will be tested by the Securing Networks With PIX and ASA (SNPA) exam, and then by the Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) exam.

Since October 2005, the final exam is designed to change from a VPN exam (CSVPN, Cisco Secure Virtual Private Networks) to Securing Hosts Using Cisco Security Agent (HIPS).

If you’re just getting started on the CCSP track, you’ll be taking the HIPS exam.

The CCSP is valid for three years; to recertify, you’ll need to pass the 642-541 CSI exam or any CCIE written exam.

With the development, it is subject to change, and you should bookmark Cisco’s Learning page (scan the main Cisco webpage) to make sure you’re aware of the latest changes to Cisco certification and recertification requirements.

Not only must you know how to secure your network, you also need to secure your current job and the possibilities for your future. By pursuing and obtaining the CCSP, you will do all three at once.

Having known the way of CCSP it tests, it will be easier when you prepare for nowadays, you can get help from some institutions for training, or study online with some learning website such as pass4sure which can equip you with even book and Virtual Lab .

The problems about an odd situation that occurs for CCNA and CCNP candidates who have their own Cisco home labs often meet when they erase a switch’s configuration.

Their startup configuration is gone as expected, but the VLAN and VTP information is still there! It sounds strange, why does it occur?

First, let’s look at an example On SW1. We run show VLAN brief and in this abbreviated output see that there are three additional VLAN in use: SW1#show VLAN 10 VLAN0010 active 20 VLAN0020 active 30 VLAN0030 active We want to totally erase the router’s startup configuration, so we use the write erase command, confirm it, and reload without saving the running configure: SW1#write erase Erasing the NVRAM file system will remove all configuration files!

Continue? [confirm] [OK] Erase of nvram: complete SW1#rel 00:06:00: %SYS-7-NV_BLOCK_INIT: Initalized the geometry of nvram SW1#reload System configuration has been modified.

Save? [yes/no]: n

Proceed with reload? [confirm]

The router reloads, and after exiting setup mode, we run show VLAN brief again. And even though the startup configuration was erased, the vlans are still there! Switch #show vlan br 10 VLAN0010 active 20 VLAN0020 active 30 VLAN0030 active.

The reason is that this VLAN and VTP information is actually kept in the VLAN.DAT file in Flash memory, and the contents of Flash are kept on a reload. The file has to be deleted manually. There’s a little trick to deleting this file. The switch will prompt you twice to ask if you really want to get rid of this file.

Don’t type “y” or “yes”; just accept the defaults by hitting the return key.

If you type “y”, the router attempts to delete a file named “y”, as shown here:

Switch#delete vlan.dat Delete filename [vlan.dat]? y

Delete flash:y? [confirm]

%Error deleting flash:y (No such file or directory)

Switch#delete vlan.dat Delete filename [vlan.dat]? Delete flash:vlan.dat? [confirm] Switch#

Working with the real Cisco equipment is the best way to prepare for CCNA and CCNP exam success, and by performing lab tasks over and over. Repetition strong your skill, and by truly erasing your VLAN and VTP information by deleting the vlan.dat file from Flash, you’ll be building your Cisco skills to the point where your CCNA and CCNP exam success is a certainty.

To work easier, you can get help from others like some training institutions, also you can go for some book or software to study from the network. If you search on the internet, pass4sure I think would be a nice choice for, from there you can get the workstation and simulation laboratory to download.
